Capacity Building Workgroup
The purpose of the Capacity Building Workgroup is to develop a set of tools for increasing the ability of local conservation efforts to successfully implement projects, including guidance on how to build lasting partnerships.
| |
The primary focus of the Capacity Building Workgroup has been
the production of three spring Capacity Building Symposia. These symposia are
designed to provide our partners with fresh ideas, resources, and techniques to
increase the effectiveness of their conservation efforts. They also offer
excellent networking opportunities for our partners, and encourage the building
of new partnerships. The three Capacity Building Symposia are listed below. Click the title to
view a PDF of the agenda. More information can be found on the "Archives" page.
NPABC Spring Symposia no longer occur, but Capacity Building topics are an
important component of the Rivers & Wildlife Celebration which the NPABC
co-hosts with Audubon Nebraska each March.

|
| The Capacity Building Workgroup conducted an Organizational Needs Assessment (ONA) Workshop during the Rivers and Wildlife Celebration on Saturday, March 18, 2006. Leaders of all NPABC partner agencies and organizations were encouraged to attend. Workshop participants were introduced to the concept of an ONA and discussed whether it would be useful and appropriate for the NPABC to create an ONA Team. The ONA Team would be composed of qualified individuals within the NPABC who would visit NPABC member organizations/agencies upon request to conduct an ONA. View the workshop outline. | |
Current projects being undertaken by the Capacity Building Workgroup are outlined in the Annual Plan of Operations (APO). In addition to helping prepare for the next symposium, The workgroup is working on the following Issues: Issue 6 - Topics for Capacity Building concurrent sessions in future symposia |
