Nebraska Bird Conservation Plan PDF Print E-mail

The Partnership agrees that a common, unified vision for bird conservation is critical for partners to coordinate actions to sustain Nebraska’s bird populations for future generations. We are in the process of developing a Nebraska Bird Conservation Plan (BCP) which will guide our actions through 2025 with the ultimate goal of sustaining all birds while increasing priority bird populations. The BCP complements the Nebraska Natural Legacy Project (NNLP), providing finer-scale planning for conservation of NNLP and other priority birds.

BCP Part 1: The Biological Foundation (2.33MB) identifies priority bird species and describes their current status in Nebraska.

BCP Part 2:  Goals and Objectives will describe detailed population goals and habitat objectives for implementation over a 15-year timeframe.  Expected completion, August 2010.

BCP Part 3:  Implementation Strategy will outline the most effective and efficient actions required to reach our goals.  Expected completion, December 2010

BCP Part 4:  Evaluation Plan will describe now we will measure the success of our actions and address key uncertainties identified during BCP development.  Expected completion, January 2011.
