Jim Douglas, Deputy Director of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, was presented the Nebraska Bird Partnership's Chairman's Award at the January Commission meeting.
Jim was selected by the former NBP Chair, Ritch Nelson, as the 2011 recipient, but due to scheduling conflicts the award could not be presented until now. Ritch cited Jim's role in founding the Nebraska Bird Partnership, as well as many other activities benefitting bird conservation in Nebraska.
The Chairman's Award is given to an entity or individual whose recent activities best exemplify the mission of the NBP. It can be for outstanding work of any type in the field of avian conservation, including outstanding leadership or fundraising efforts.
The purpose of the NBP Awards Program is to recognize the individuals and organizations whose leadership and dedication to bird conservation serve as inspiration for others. Recipients of 2012 NBP Awards will be announced and honored at the 7th Annual Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on March 16th. |
