Project BEAK is an interactive, web-based curriculum targeting students in 5th-8th grade that contains scientifically accurate information about Nebraska birds, conservation, adaptations, bird watching, and Nebraska's threatened and endangered birds. The curriculum is divided into six different modules, each with relevant fun information presented with video clips, interactive games, quizzes and diagrams, additional resources and links, and classroom lesson plans. Developed by volunteers of the Nebraska Bird Partnership Education Workgroup in cooperation with Nebraska Education Television, Project BEAK was designed to meet State Teaching Standards. It addresses a primary need identified by educators for more materials specific to Nebraska species and ecoregions so students can learn more about the place where they live.
If you are a teacher, student, or just someone who likes to learn interesting and unique facts about Nebraska birds, then you should check out how cool and FUN Project BEAK is!
