A major accomplishment of the Science Advisory Workgroup was compilation of a list of Nebraska Birds by Habitat for the purpose of evaluating the importance of each of Nebraska's major habitats to breeding, migrating, and wintering birds. The Science Advisory Workgroup also determined species "conservation status" rankings, which were later used to identify at-risk bird species during development of the Nebraska Natural Legacy Project, our state's plan for conserving our native flora and fauna for future generations.
Planned Actions: The Science Advisory Workgroup will provide critical guidance during development of Part 4 of the Nebraska Bird Conservation Plan, the Evaluation Plan which will describe how we will measure the success of our actions and address key uncertainties identified during BCP development.
